• Sampark Centre to be made functional in Ram Darbar
Chandigarh, December 10, 2016: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders today campaigned for party candidates contesting in different parts of the city. While Chandigarh MP, Kirron Kher canvassed for candidates in Manimajra, Sector 22 and Ram Darbar, Kalka MLA, Latika Sharma campaigned for party candidate in ward 23, and senior BJP leader Banto Kataria also joined campaigning with Sanjay Tandon, Chandigarh State President of BJP who joined the campaign with several party candidates.
Kirron Kher, Chandigarh MP, today carried out canvassing across the city and interacted with the residents in different wards to strengthen BJP’s grip in the city for the upcoming MCC elections. She visited Sector 22 to hold public meeting for ward number 3 candidate Ravi Kant Sharma.
While addressing a public meeting in Sector 22, Kher while seeking support for Sharma said, “Ravi had always been a dedicated BJP worker and I am sure if you support him and elect him as the councillor of your ward you will see development which has not happened here for last 14 years of the Congress regime.”
Those present during the public meeting included Ex Mayor Harjinder Kaur; BJP Chandigarh State Secretaries Renu Bala and Santosh Sharma, Vishal Puri, Mandal 3 President; Narata Lal Gupta; Prince Bundela; Vijay Uppal; Varinder Bajaj; Shiv Kumar Bhanot; Radhe Shaym; Vijay Sharma; and Pankaj, BJYM ward 3 President, among others.
Kher also visited Ram Darbar today to support candidate from ward number 23, Bharat Kumar. She was accompanied by Latika Sharma, MLA, Kalka; Sanjay Tandon, BJP State President Chandigarh; Banto Kataria, senior BJP leader, Haryana, Ram Lal ex-councillor, Devi Singh, District 3 President, and other senior party workers.
During the gathering, the residents apprised Kher of the problems being faced by the masses due to sitting councillor unavailability and negligence. Kher appealed the voters to vote for development this time and assured holistic development in the ward. He assured to make Sampark Centre functional in the area and to get old community centre renovated.
While addressing a public meeting at Old Ropar Road, Manimajra MP Kirron Kher said, various problems in the area have been brought to her notice, and these problems will be solved on priority. She further appealed people to vote for the BJP Candidate from the area, Vinod Aggarwal, who was also weighed against ladoos.
BJP Chandigarh President Sanjay Tandon and Vinod Aggarwal, BJP candidate from ward number 26 were given a warm welcome by Bhagel Singh, President of Motor Market Association, Manimajra along with workers. They also assured full support to BJP. Vinod Aggarwal said, license will be given to vendors and more space with proper facilities will be provided.
Maheshinder Singh Sidhu, party candidate from Ward 1 also carried out intensive campaign in his ward. Sanjay Tandon, BJP Chandigarh President joined Sidhu in the campaign.
Shakti Devshali, candidate from ward number 20 while campaigning in sector 29 was assured of full support by the residents of the area. He said, he is living in this ward since long time and knows the needs of the people of this ward better than any other candidate.
A Nukkar meeting was organized by Uttarakhand Samiti in Sector 45, speaking on the occasion Kanwarjeet Singh, BJP candidate from ward number 14 said, he is committed towards the development of the area, and better sanitation facilities and cleanliness will be his priority. He further added the manifesto is being prepared with the suggestions given by the residents of the area. People appreciated this move by Kanwarjeet and assured him full support.
BJP Candidate from Ward number 16, Rajesh Kumar Gupta campaigned door to door in Sector 33. Jagtar Singh Dhillon went door to door campaigning in his ward 25 and got support from residents.
Says BJP is open for debate on demonetization, which has affected corrupt Cong leaders the most
Chandigarh, December 10, 2016: The local unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today blasted the Congress over it campaign against the BJP on demonetization issue. While commenting on the statement made by Rahul Gandhi, Congress Vice-President, Chander Shekhar, General Secretary of Chandigarh BJP said Rahul Gandhi should first look into the misdeeds of his own party before leveling baseless allegations against BJP, which is working for the good of the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It may be mentioned here that former Air Force Chief SP Tyagi was arrested on Friday over alleged irregularities in the Italy-based AugustaWestland VVIP chopper deal worth 3600 crores, signed when the Congress was in power.
An Italian court had found evidence of the corruption in the helicopter deal and Sonia Gandhi, Congress President has been described as the "driving force" behind the deal.
Shekhar said Congress Vice-President was blaming the BJP for not being allowed to speak in the Lok Sabha on what he described demonetization as the ‘biggest scam’. He said the chopper deal case investigation was conducted on fast track after the Modi government took over in 2014 which was committed to check black money, adding that Congress has been embroiled in several scams over the years including the 2G scam in 2008, CWG scam in 2010, cash for vote scam in 2011, coal scam in 2012, Adarsh scam in 2012, IPL scam in 2013, to name a few. He added Rahul Gandhi should remember Robert Vadra’s name in illegal land deals had also hit headlines.
The BJP leader said demonetization had affected those who had black money including the Congress leaders who have been at the epicenter of scams. He added BJP was not afraid of Rahul Gandhi but he should be ready for debate, adding if there is a debate on demonetization, Rahul who was talking about speaking in the parliament will be left speechless and will stand exposed himself.
‘10 Months vs. 14 Years: BJP has worked, will keep working’: Tandon
Chandigarh, December 10, 2016: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) alliance today released its Vision Document here today for the forthcoming MC polls December 18. The vision document details the promises by the party for city residents and also brings out the achievements of the BJP during its tenure.
Among senior party leaders present on the occasion were Sanjay Tandon, Chandigarh State BJP President; Kirron Kher, local MP; Satya Pal Jain, former MP; Harmohan Dhawan, former Union Minister; Chander Shekhar, General Secretary Chandigarh BJP; Prem Kaushik, General Secretary Chandigarh BJP; Ramvir Bhatti, Chandigarh BJP Vice President and Ravinder Pathania, Media Incharge of Chandigarh BJP.
After releasing the Vision Document, Sanjay Tandon, said BJP has always given priority to welfare of the people and the document brings out the vision of the party, which takes a holistic view of overall development of the city.
Elaborating on the same, Tandon said the party once voted to power will ensure conversion of residential property from leasehold to freehold. He said this will come as a major relief to the residents of city. Further the party will meet the commitment of housing for all by providing affordable housing and will also provide rehabilitation to the oustees.
The BJP has also assured more community centers in city and all villages will be provided with modern facilities at par with the city.
Tandon informed, keeping health facilities on priority, the party has assured free treatment for the first 24 hours after admission in government hospitals, besides free consultation and medicines in government hospitals. Sector 16 GMSH will also be upgraded by setting up ICU, besides establishing AYUSH hospital in Sector and availability of cheap medicines in Sector 22, 45 and Manimajra hospitals by setting up Jan Aushadhi Kendras.
Six new schools would be set up in Maloya, Mauli Jagran, Raipur Kalan, Industrial Area Phase 3 and PGI. Six new sports complexes will come up in sectors 56, 50, 38 west, 43, 34 and Manimajra.
The Vision Document envisages more employment facilities for the youth and film city will be set up to give an opportunity to those interested in joining the film industry. The long pending issue of SC and ST certificates will also be taken up on priority.
The BJP has given special focus to beautification, modernization and proper lighting of city roads besides installation of proper signages. The BJP Chandigarh President, Sanjay Tandon also explained that underground electrical wiring will also be taken up by the party and LED lights will be installed in different parts of the city.
Intelligent Traffic Light System will help in streamlining traffic and new fleet of buses will be added to CTU fleet. Special care has been taken to ensure more facilities for tourists at places of tourist interest in city.
Trader community has also been given priority in the Vision Document, and marketplaces will have better parking lots, besides beautification of markets, and providing better facilities to them. Further to encourage industrialists, eco-green units will be set up which will also provide employment opportunities.
