Chandigarh 26th Aug, 2014: A delegation of residents of Tribune Colony led by Bharatiya Janata Party District President Shakti Prakash Devshali met city Member Parliament Smt. Kirron Kher and submitted a memorandum regarding various problems of the residents.  Other prominent members of the delegation include Samiti President Prakash Gosain, Rajesh Kumar, Avtar Singh and Manoj Pal among others.

District President Shakti Prakash Devshali brought to the notice of Smt. Kirron Kher that the water supply pipeline was laid in 1970s which is leaking from many places.  It needs replacement to ensure proper water supply in the area.  The roads of the colony are not recarpetted for the last around 20 years.  The potholes on the roads have become a major cause of accidents in the area.

The street lights in the area are not functioning as the concerned officials are not maintaining them properly.  The area remains in dark due to which many cases of snatching were noticed.  There are several grounds in the colony and one of them may be developed as Green Park so as to benefit the residents of the colony.

The delegation also brought it to the notice of Smt. Kirron Kher that Sector 29 is the entry point of city and the garbage dumps on both side of road gives a bad impression of the city for the visitors.  Both the sides of road from Tribune to GMCH roundabout should be developed so as to maintain the image of ‘City Beautiful’.

Smt. Kirron Kher assured the delegation that she will raise the issue with the concerned officiers and the problems will be sorted out on priority basis.
