Chandigarh April 3, 2014: To register the victory of the party from Chandigarh Parliamentary seat, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s MP candidate, Kirron Kher campaigned at various places of the city on Thursday. She carried out six rallies, two- road shows, one Padyatra, two religious congregations and met with students of Panjab University. The BJP’s senior leaders including State President, Sanjay Tandon, former MP, Satya Pal Jain and former union minister, Harmohan Dhawan also joined the MP candidate at various places. Anupam Kher also reached at various places.
The MP contender began her canvassing by carrying out road shows in the sector 40 and 41. The convoy of cars and caravan of supporters added colour to the canvassing. The local residents welcomed Kirron Kher by garlands of flowers and confirmed their support in the favour of BJP.
The ‘Padyatra’ of Kirron Kher in sector 21 registered overwhelming response. Going from shop-to-shop she appealed to the traders to vote for BJP so that the pending issues like conversion fee and issue of penalty could be resolved.
To connect with the Muslim community, she reached at Mandi ground of Ramdarbar to address a public meeting. The meeting witnessed the large participation from party workers, and local residents. The President of Minority Morcha, Mohammad Khurshid also marked his presence.
In her speech, Kirron Kher said, “I had come to this place on the occasion of ‘Ravan-Dehan’ and now I have come here for ‘Congress-Dehan’. Britishers had invented the ‘Divide and rule’ policy which has been well adopted and executed by the Congress Government from last 60 years. I ask you that why could not the Muslim community grow during the congress regime. Every Muslim of Gujarat is supporting BJP today because Narendra Modi has done exceptional work there”.
Afterwards, Kirron Kher reached at NAC market of Manimajra for canvassing and met the members of the market. Then she went to the residence of Harmohan Dhawan where he made it clear that the party was united.
Sharing his views, Harmohan Dhawan said, “The rumors are being fanned by the Congress party and we are working together to ensure victory of Kirron Kher from Chandigarh’s parliamentary seat. The media is question that don’t I go to every place for campaigning. I want to clarify that according the party’s poll strategy, I have been assigned the work to strengthen our stand in colonies and villages”.
A debate session was planned for Anupam Kher and the MP candidate, Kirron Kher with students of Panjab University. Kirron Kher reached to address the debate before Anupam Kher. She had an interactive session with students and answered many queries. Later on Anupam Kher joined in and students expressed great enthusiasm.
Kirron Kher addressed public rallies in sectors 52, 41, 19, 30. She gave a patient hearing the problems being faced by the common man. She assured them their problems will be resolved if BJP comes into the power.
After the Public rallies, she participated in ‘Nirankari Samagam’ at Vikas Nagar village. Besides, she reached at cultural programme organized at ‘Gauriya Math Mandir’, sector 20.
