‘Go Getter’ Kirron Kher’s campaign includes 3 Road Shows, 6 public meetings, 5 rallies on Sunday


Chandigarh March 30, 2014: The rising popularity of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s MP Candidate for Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat, Kirron Kher has added colour in the political battle. Adopting the ‘Go Getter’ approach much like BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, Kirron carried out an aggressive campaign in the city on Sunday.

After seeking the God’s blessings at Gurudwara of Sector 30 at 7.30 am on Sunday, the MP candidate, Kirron geared up for canvassing in her turf. With a big band of supporters, celebratory drumbeats, Kirron Kher followed by convoy of cars began her road show from Ward No 18. The residents started coming out of their houses to meet the charismatic personality Kirron Kher.

Getting connected with the crowd, she was seen folding her hands and introducing herself. She also sought blessings of an older woman and said that she was trying to understand their problems better.

Those who organized this big colourful show included Mandal President, Om Prakash Sharma, Councilor, Satinder Singh, District President, Shakti Parkash Devshali, State Secretary, Balwinder Kaur Rana, National Executive (Industry), Rupinder Singh, State General Secretary, Manessh Bhasin, District Secretary, Anoop Rana.

After this, the road show caravan reached Ward 19 of Sector 26 Police Line where a large crowd was waiting for Kirron Kher. Many women were seen on balconies and on rooftops to catch a glimpse of Kirron Kher.

The third spot for the canvassing was Arya Samaj temple of Sector 22 where a weekly programme on the occasion of ‘Hindu Nav Varsh Vikrami Samvat: 2017’ was going on. The MP candidate received a warm welcome by a large number of women here. Kirron Kher greeted people on the New Year according to Hindu calendar and thanked everyone for participating.  While striking a bond with women Kirron Kher said that their support would play a significant role in changing the future of the city.

To address the first public meeting of the day, Kirron reached at EWS Colony, Sector 49. She was accompanied by the former union minister, Harmohan Dhawan.

Getting connected with the crowd, Kirron tried to understand their basic problems. “The BJP has pro-poor and pro-development agenda and the party’s leaders carry a vision which can provide solution to long pending issues. The Congress party has been misleading people by their false promises of growth. The time has come to show the door to the Congress government so that common man could get basic amenities”.  On this occasion, the Senior Deputy Mayor, Heera Negi, President, Colony Cell, Anil Dubey, Councilor, Saurabh Joshi, Party’s State Secretary, Anita Chaudhary were also present.

The members of the ‘Tenants Welfare Society’ of Sector 41 exhibited support and welcomed Kirron Kher once again in their area. The President of Shiromani Akali Dal, Chandigarh, Jagjit Singh Kang was addressing the meeting when Kirron arrived at the venue. Succeeding Kang, the President of the Society, Manu Malhotra apprised Kirron with the problems of the tenants who suffer because of not having their won houses.

Taking on the stage, the MP candidate said, “Our party has always been in the favour of introducing the scheme of affordable housing for Chandigarh residents. I appeal to all of you to vote for me so that I could voice your issues in Parliament”.

Afterwards, Kirron Kher moved towards Hallomajra where the youth brigade of BJP had oragnised a public meeting which saw the participation of huge crowd of residents of the colony. The Councilor, Saurabh Joshi described the prevailing problems of the colony and said that Congress had misled these innocent residents with their false promises. He also informed that the councilor of the area is from BSP which again ignored the development of the colony.

Listing the achievements of Narendra Modi in Gujarat, Kirron Kher said, “BJP’s Modi Brigade is ready to take on the prevailing challenges to introduce transparent system in the nation so that every citizen could lead a comfortable life”.

The next stopover for the campaigning was party office where the MP candidate addressed the team of Mission 272 plus. She suggested the team to get united to contribute in realizing the ambitious target of securing 272 seats in LS Electons-2014.
Around 3.30 pm Kirron reached to participate in a street play to depict the scams of Congress party in EWS colony, sector 38 west. She was soon got surrounded by the massive crowd. Kirron assured the common populace that the party would take up strong stand in the welfare of the residents of EWS colony.

After finishing her public meeting, she reached at Pankaj hotel, sector 22 to attend a special programme hosted by the members of ‘Sainik Samaj Party. The President, Sainik Samaj Party, Col B S Parmar appealed from the gathering to garner support for Kirron Kher so that BJP’s Narendra Modi could become prime minister of the nation. On this occasion the President of ‘Rashtriya Raksha dal’, Col (retd), Harsharan Singh calling Kirron Kher, a daughter of Chandigarh said that the talented person like her should represent the city.

Slamming the Vice-chairman of Congress Party, Rahul Gandhi, She said, “The congress party announced ‘One rank, one pension’ scheme to strengthen its vote bank but the party has failed to ensure its effective implementation. The time has come that Army personnel should take an informative choice while casting the vote”.

In the evening, Kirron Kher met the delegation of the Housing Board Federation and also attended the public meetings at Shantinagar of Manimajra and Sector 32. The MP candidate concluded his campaigning at a public meeting of Faida village where she spent time to listen to the problems of the common man.
